Persevere

Kevin Goh fills the gap between the advice everyone is given about perseverance and what it actually takes to keep going.

Written plainly and without motivational language, Persevere sets out the practices he has relied on: accepting the ground you are standing on, checking your environment before you blame yourself, recovering quickly instead of staying down, using the energy a failure gives you, taking real ownership without carrying false guilt, asking for help without handing over the wheel, building a record of what you have already survived, and knowing when to let go.

Its message is that perseverance is not a personality trait some people are given and others are not. It is a set of practices, available to anyone, from any starting point — including knowing, honestly, when it has quietly become stubbornness.

Kevin Goh has spent his professional career building one of Singapore’s leading financial advisory practices from the ground up. As founder of Odyssey Advisory, he was named top Executive Director in his company for three consecutive years from 2023 to 2025. Before entering financial services, he was a competitive long-distance runner who won multiple national titles as a student-athlete and represented the country at the ASEAN School Games. Persevere is his third and latest book.
