Horn

A slow burn romance steeped in the unicorn myth that explores modern desire, power dynamics, and what it means when the thing that makes a love perfect might also destroy it.

For fans of Raquel Vasquez Gilliland, Rebecca Ross, and Heather Fawcett.

Dani Russell wants more. She almost likes her job, but testing games isn’t the same as creating them, building worlds inspired by the fairytales her father told her growing up. As for love, she stumbles through one failed hookup after the next. But when she meets a sweet, artistic, gorgeous guy unlike anyone else she has ever met, it’s practically like finding a unicorn…

Nick Phillips wants less. A human to the world and unicorn in secret, he knows that none of the myths have gotten the story right. Deeply affected by the yearnings of others, he wishes being around women didn’t overwhelm him with their needs and desires. He could do with less self-imposed isolation, less of everything in his chaotic half-human life, until he meets Dani. She’s the one woman he can’t get enough of.

Marcus Fletcher wants everything. Asset stripping is his business, and a local gaming company is his latest conquest. Descended from a long line of exotic game hunters, he is hungry to add another unicorn to his collection. Now he’s set his sights on Nick, with Dani as the perfect bait for his trap.

Horn is a modern fable that employs the fantastical and folkloric to spin a sensual and suspenseful tale about the authentic, imperfect, and sometimes magical intricacies of love.
